A letter to my daughter
To my beautiful daughter, Alfie
I have been dreaming this deck into being, for many years. To be honest, I did not think I would ever be able to finalize it one day. But here it is, in your hands, now. I have filled this project with breath, energy, and magic, while trying to make sense of myself, my relationship to the world, to you and my family of origin. I have created it as a kind of inheritance; it is an archive of my journey into the vast emotional territory and entanglement of the hidden legacies of our ancestors. The journey into a family system can be messy and scary; it is a compassionate confrontation with the entirety of who we are and where we come from. In the trouble and the joy, by integrating all elements with care, not trying to separate the good and the bad, I hope the cards will help you build some resilience and some integration. Maybe one day, your own children will find them in an box full of old papers and photos. They might then travel back to their grand mother's world, in the unsettling ancestral healing that is my path today. May this deck help you understand a little more the world and your heart. May it help you find joy and meaning. May it help you make your own magic in all your glorious being.
